On the Trail Again

This morning we ventured out with my friend Jess to the Rail Trail for a very refreshing bike ride. Jess is getting ready for a triathlon in 3 weeks and is working up for the 15 mile bike ride section. We ended up biking 10 miles! I am very proud of that, because the last time I was on a bike ride it was only a mile around the neighborhood. I'm sure we will be feeling it tomorrow!
Jess looked all cute in her biking gear and professional bike. It put me to shame with my little $60 boys bike and kid helmet (Tim makes fun of me because adult helmets are too big for my head, so I wear a youth one). Whatever works! Bennett was very well behaved, even though the ride went into part of his nap time. His favorite part was a stop for trailmix, fresh fruit and throwing rocks into the creek. My least favorite part was seeing a snake slide from a tree into the creek and almost running over a snake as it was crossing the trail. Why do snakes have to go and ruin the serenity of everything?
New summer goal: Work up to the Rail Trail bike ride all the way to Maryland (roughly 20 miles).

Look at you, you're a biking machine. Snakes do ruin things! I hate those suckers.

Way to go. I am not a great bike rider but would be more content doing it if I had company.
