In Loving Memory...

I thought that I would write a little bit of something about my Poppop in a way to honor him and the life that he lived. One of the things that I will always remember about him was his hair. I think that Poppop was proud that he had a lot of hair for a man of his age. I will never forget the first thing he said when he saw little Bennett was, "Wow! I think he has more hair than I do!" Poppop (and Nani) have always been good about making sure they were there for the things that mattered to us. They were at every birthday party. They didn't miss the graduations or weddings. I loved getting little packages and letters from them when I was 2500 miles away at college. Poppop even came over and helped us when our shower wasn't working properly. He was so good with fixing things. I don't know who I'm going to fall on now if my dad is too busy to fix something and Tim can't.
It is always hard to lose someone you love. I think Poppop is happy being able to be with his twin brother and other loved ones that have passed on. I still feel a little bit selfish that he is not here with us. It is comforting to know that a loved one like him will be waiting for me when my time comes. I think he is happy where he is.

Isn't great that families are FOREVER! Not that it takes away from your loss. Your family is in my thoughts.

Ashley, that was beautiful. I am sorry for your loss. It's not selfish to want our loved ones to be with us always, that's why they are our loved ones! You are in my prayers.

I'm so sorry for your loss Ash. I'm happy you were able to be with him one last time though. I'm so sure he much appreciated that. At least you can be comforted that he is in a better place now and he is playing with his twin brother. how fun for them. I love you Ash!

We were sorry to hear about the passing of your Poppop. How blessed we are to know that the separation and sadness we feel is only temporary. You have wonderful memories that you'll be able to share with your own children... isn't that great! Life has such a way of preparing us for the tough times, and the gospel provides the promises. You and your loved ones are in our prayers.

Ashley, I'm so sorry for your loss...but I feel the exact same way. I miss my grandpa barnett and often get teary eyed when I think that he is not here. Your wording is perfect...but I too often feel selfish. I don't think that is a bad thing. Much love to you and your family. :)
