At school we have a phrase for our students that have mothers that hover around their children all day long. We call them "Helicopter Moms". While I appreciate all the time these moms put into making sure their children have the best of everything, theses mom can be very annoying. I never even thought that I would be put into the category of a helicopter mom (please help me)! Last night was Bennett's second night in his crib. We have this cute little bassinet that Bennett has slept in by our bed since he was born. Last week we looked at the bassinet and noticed that the padding was starting to bend because of Bennett's chubbiness. Tim looked at the warning tag on the bassinet and found out that it has a weight limit of 15 pounds! Well, Bennett has just exceeded that. We had to break down and pack the bassinet up. I had planned on Bennett sleeping in it for another month. I never thought that it would be so HARD to have him in a different room (in my defense, Tim was just as bad)! We were hovering over him worried about him all night. Of course Bennett was fine and probably more comfortable in his crib. He only woke up once in the night to eat. Well, time for me to go hover over Bennett again!

lol I LOVE you Ashley! That is too cute, helicopter mom, I like that! I'm proud of you for letting him sleep in his crib even though it was hard for you. Way to be strong!! I love those pictures of Bennett too, I miss him already!
Here's the opposite: free range parents. I had never heard of either until I stumbled on to this web site: http://freerangekids.wordpress.com/ Interesting read, that you probably have seen in teaching (this and the opposite)
Bennett is quite the cutie!!! I just wish we had room to move Clara out of our room so that I could get a decent night sleep.
