So MEAN!

Our stubborn little boy has been fighting his naps like you wouldn't believe! Daddy was so "mean" that he made Bennett cry until he fell asleep like this. Apparently Bennett was sitting up crying against the bars and slowly fell asleep into this uncomfortable position. I'm glad that I was at work, because I am a sucker for his cries and would not have been able to bear it! (Note: his favorite stuffed animals, George Cooney (a raccoon) and Fawn (a deer) are below him. He was hugging them while crying. So sad.)
Last weekend we went to a farewell cookout for my niece that is moving to England to be closer to her fiance. The weather was perfect and we had a great time under the shade of all of their trees. I couldn't resist posting some pics from the party.
We let Bennett play on the rocks because he was too scared to crawl in the grass. I don't understand why he will crawl on the rocks and not the grass. I personally think the grass is more comfortable. But hey, this is also the kid that tried to eat the rocks. Yech!

I also hate hearing my baby cry. We went through it today at church. And I just snuggled him so tight and eventually he stopped crying. But my heart broke the entire time. But Bennett looks so cute and i can't believe he slept through you taking the pictures.

Trust me...you don't want him to give up naps. It's worth it. I think we have a picture of Jakob doing almost the same thing, but with different animals curled up under him:) Wish we could have been at the picnic!

I don't think I would have been able to let that cute little guy fall asleep like that. He is getting so big Ashley. I am coming for a visit soon and I will be happy to take his pictures. I told Sommer the other day that when I came we have to make sure to spend some time together.

Ok, I'm guessing you named the animals? George Cooney and Fawn...classic. He is quite the adorable boy. I don't think I would be able to bear his sad "behind bars" crying either, but I'm sure I'll get my fill with Cambria someday soon!

Well at least you admit you're a sucker. Good for Tim for standing strong. When Em was a baby she would scream any time I put her on the grass. I asked her pediatrician about it. He said it's a tactile response. She was "hyper stimulated" by the blades of grass and that actually resulted in a pain sensation. For several years I had to turn her pj's inside out because she'd freak out when the seams touched her. She grew out of both when she was about 3 1/2. Very weird.
