I Feel Like I've Fallen Off the Face of the Earth!

This is just a little peek of what my classroom looks like. Of course... much has change since the first day of school!
Every beginning of the school year does this to me, I just don't know why this year feels different. Maybe it's the construction going on at school, a harder school year, a VERY active toddler at home (as well as husband), grad classes, and all those other little tid bits of odds and ends that need to be completed or arise that just seem to add up and send one over the edge! I am finding that I have very little time to do the things that I love, such as read a good book, take a walk, scrapbook, blog and talk to my friends. Every little extra moment I have I am trying to spend with Bennett because I feel this enormous guilt that I spend more time at my job with other children than I do with my own son. It's a horrible feeling! I do count my blessings that Bennett is not in day care and is able to spend his time with his daddy. I am so proud of the new things that he is learning. The last thing I want to do is be a downer, so I would like to share a few things that have made me very happy this past month.
* Graduation Day has been set . It is December 18th! (The end is in sight!)
* Bennett has learned to point to his ear, mouth, nose, tongue, and hair
* Tim and I finally have life insurance!
* The cooler weather has made a difference in a classroom with 27 bodies and no air conditioning
* Every one of my children read at least 300 reading minutes for their reading calendars for the month of September. (That has never happened in my 6 years of teaching! We had hot chocolate, muffins, and read books to celebrate.)
* A date is set to buy tickets with my friends for the midnight showing of Twilight.
* My home teacher brought by purple mums for my garden.
* I was able to spend a day with my sister.
* It has been more than a week since I spotted a millipede (I hope I'm not jinxing myself).
* I ate a Reece's Peanut Butter Cup (the one in a shape of a pumpkin) today. The best kind are the pumpkin, heart, egg, and Christmas tree shaped cups. They have more peanut butter in them and always make me happy!
*Best of all... (besides the whole not seeing a millipede thing)tomorrow morning I get to sleep in! Tim is getting up with Bennett. I can't remember the last time I have slept in!

It's the little things that count! I'm glad the end is in sight for you and one thing will get taken off your plate. Keep the chin up and keep on looking on the bright side of life (I can never think that phrase without humming the tune with it as well).

I know exactly how you felt. I had similar feelings of being overwhelmed. But I totally love that you got tickets to twilight, my neighbors and I are still debating a date to see it.

Yeah for happy things! I love mums, but lost all 21 I planted last year so I have not purchased any this year!
